Long Time, No Blog

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted to my blog…ba-a-a-a-d Monica.

Well, I haven’t actually been bad.  I’ve been up to some good…helping qualified low-income homeowners and renters decrease their energy burden at NO COST to them through the State of California’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

Through this weatherization program, qualified low-income residents can receive free eco-friendly upgrades that improve the energy efficiency of their homes.  These upgrades range from installation of attic insulation, doors, windows and refrigerator replacement to carbon monoxide detectors, low flow showerheads and repair/replacement of unsafe or non-operable furnaces.

I’ve been working with the Eastern Los Angeles Energy Assistance Team (ELEAT) to green Eastern Los Angeles County from Rancho Palos Verdes at the coast to La Verne in the east.  ELEAT is a partnership between the following non-profits:

  • Long Beach Community Action Partnership
  • Los Angeles Conservation Corps
  • San Gabriel Valley Conservation Corps
  • California Conservation Corps
  • Conservation Corps of Long Beach
