Monica D. Higgins is an in-demand remodeling expert and the Founder of Renovation Planners, a certified construction management firm that helps homeowners avoid becoming the next remodeling horror story.
Renovation Planners was inspired by Monica’s own remodeling experience. As a teen, she witnessed her mother getting ripped off by an unscrupulous contractor on an extensive and expensive apartment building renovation project. Years later, as Monica started working on her own projects, she recalled that experience and wondered how she could avoid the same fate. She knew that losing control during any phase of a project would virtually guarantee increased personal stress, anxiety and a financially draining project. So, she spent years testing and refining what she’s learned to come up with a remodeling process that WORKS.
Monica’s proven process and expert knowledge has been featured by/in HGTV, DIY Network, Fine Living, Home Wizards, Entrepreneur Magazine, USA Today, Lowes for Pros, BobVila.com, Bankrate.com and more.
Monica is a certified construction manager and a LEED Accredited Professional that holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson, a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Southern California and is licensed by the California Department of Real Estate. She is a member of several professional associations and has served on the Board of Trustees for Berkeley Hall School, the Advisory Board for the Small Business Development Center at El Camino College and as a volunteer counselor for SCORE.
